All charters include the vessel, licensed skipper, fuel, and basic safety equipment. Catering, drinks, and additional crew (host/steward) are optional extras. Prices vary by vessel and duration — please check availability for a detailed quote.
No — all our vessels operate with a professional licensed skipper who handles navigation and docking. You and your guests simply relax and enjoy the experience. If you wish to captain the vessel yourself, we offer bareboat charters for experienced license holders (subject to sea trial).
Safety is our priority. If the Bureau of Meteorology forecasts unsafe conditions, we will contact you to reschedule or offer a full refund. We monitor weather closely and typically make a decision 24-48 hours before departure. Sheltered bay cruises often proceed even in light wind.
Absolutely — BYO is welcome on most charters. We provide eskies, ice, and serving platters. Many clients choose our premium catering packages for convenience. Note that glass bottles are not permitted on deck for safety reasons; we recommend cans or plastic containers.

Terms of Service

Melbourne Yacht Charters Pty Ltd (ABN 74 619 832 451) provides yacht charter services subject to these terms. All bookings are confirmed upon receipt of a 50% deposit. Full payment is due 14 days prior to departure. Cancellations made more than 30 days before the charter receive a full refund; within 14-30 days, 50% refund; less than 14 days, no refund unless the charter is cancelled by us due to weather or mechanical issues.

Clients are responsible for the conduct of their guests. Damage to the vessel caused by negligence will be charged to the client. All charters operate under Victorian marine safety laws. The skipper's decisions regarding safety and navigation are final. Alcohol consumption is permitted but intoxication that compromises safety may result in early termination without refund.

Our liability is limited to the charter fee paid. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. By booking, you accept these terms in full.

Risk Disclosure

Chartering a yacht involves inherent risks including but not limited to: adverse weather conditions, sea sickness, slips and falls on deck, and equipment malfunction. While all vessels are maintained to commercial standards and crew are licensed professionals, no amount of preparation can eliminate all risk.

Clients with medical conditions (pregnancy, heart conditions, mobility issues) should consult their doctor before booking. Life jackets are provided and must be worn when directed by the skipper. Alcohol consumption increases risk — please drink responsibly. Children under 12 must be supervised at all times.

Past charters and testimonials do not guarantee future experiences. By boarding any vessel, you acknowledge these risks and agree to follow all safety instructions. Melbourne Yacht Charters holds $5 million public liability insurance but recommends clients obtain their own travel insurance for cancellation or medical cover.
